Watch "Bodycam footage shows treatment of George Floyd in police custody" on YouTube
See: The update below near the footnotes..
You know since George Floyd's death there's been rioting in the United States. We get the reports here in Canada. Some of these protests and rioting have been so extreme as we have heard/reported buildings being burnt down and police being attacked or killed. At the same time there has been focus on police brutality and hate crimes as racism is blamed. We've heard about the officers that were arrested and charged accordingly with the death of George Floyd or as an accessory and all of that. There's been a lot of debate and a lot of news on this subject. The police have released their body cam footage.
Seeing this latest footage is shocking. George Floyd seems to be crying and he has some sort of anxiety problem. A gun was pulled on him and he was ordered out of the car. Things escalated and he ended up on the ground were an officer was on him and he said he couldn't breathe and later died.
We don't know what things exactly were before the arrest. Someone called the police on them/him when he tried to use a $20 counterfeit bill to pay for something/service as alleged. We don't know exactly what happened there. Some of that has been reported most likely but I just wanted to address the basic synopsis of this situation being a Christian believer in Christ.
The police have so many different situations and they are under stress. There are some things that they probably aren't too good at handling. That doesn't mean that other police departments would be in the same dilemma. There probably are some police that are very well trained and are really good at their job. It must be tempting at times as a police officer to overstep your boundaries. Especially with all the things that they know in the community and all the threats that they face in a day.
To me even if George Floyd did break the law this situation just seems wrong. Things escalated out of hand and it was caught on video. If somebody tells you they can't breathe and they just slack it off/ignore well he/George seemed to be in pain & that's not good. They might have thought he was just doing that and whining and complaining. It's obvious from the video that he had some sort of paranoia or anxiety. It's obvious from the video that George thought that the police might harm him.
And since this incident other incidents have become news and police were fired or resigned. Others shot too. There's been focus on racism and I've even heard it said in news that's some police officers are discouraged because criminals go to court and come right back out. I'm not implying that George Floyd was a criminal. That is for a court to decide or whether those police officers really did what they say they did. That is also for a court to decide. We can try him/George Floyd/ and police by media but that is not proper.
I personally don't think that the police should be defunded. I mean do you want God's laws to be made null effect. Just doesn't seem right. Thats what the world we cannot see wants. Ephesians 6:12 And I know Christ said to be forgiving. But a man has died here and as they say at the hands of the police. You know Christ said for the measure you use/judge will be judged/used against you. He also said do not condemn which many people including Christians do. One of the greatest troubles Christ had with the Pharisees was that they did not treat people good. He said they were of their father the devil and they laid heavy burdens on people. God is the ultimate judge in the end.
We have to be careful biblical wise to not be hypocrites. I guess being a black man and knowing that prejudism exists in the world is not a good feeling. Yes, we know about all the crime reported either done by blacks, whites or other races.
I've personally experienced racism before and it's horrible. I've had black friends that were treated bad just because of their skin colour. I was there to see it and to feel it. This is such a wicked & evil world.
You know Jesus Christ said my yoke is easy and my burden is light and he is the way, is that truth and the life. Not to get too heavy but we are living in an evil day just as prophesied that it would be so. We are living in a day just as in Noah's day was. People are into things and all sorts of idolatries. We were told in the end days people would be without natural affection. We were told that good would become bad and bad would become good. In other words, the gospel reveals such a day when evil will be called good and good will be called evil. We were also told that in the end times people will be lovers of entertainment and not lovers of the truth. We have no doubt arrived.
Just listening to the evening news or reading the papers is troublesome and shocking. Sure, we have prayer. But you have to be a doer of the word. You know Jesus give us a new commandment. He said to love each other.
I've heard it said that there are people in hell right now that had wished that they listened and there are people on the way to hell right now when preached to that aren't listening. In other words, one day when they're cast into the Lake of fire, they're going to wish like those other people there now that they listened. The gospel mentions that many people are going to perish along with their filth. They're going to reap the world & none repentant be cast into outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.
And then people wonder why there is evil in the world and where God is. God hid his face from mankind because God is so holy that sin has separated man from God. God is not a myth. The God who said I am that I am is God and real.
The answer is the gospel and Jesus. The Jesus the Bible describes. He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes on to the father but by him.
Turn to Christ today if you don't know him. Turn away from sin. What will it profit you to gain the world and to perish? Mark 8:36

News: "MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - In a new filing in the case against a now-fired Minneapolis police officer involved in the killing of George Floyd, the officer’s attorney alleged that Floyd overdosed on fentanyl while resisting arrest and in doing so contributed to his own death, arguing the charges against the officer should be dropped." Foot Notes:
Was George Floyd saved? I've heard it said George Floyd was a criminal whom went to hell. One person said that. Perhaps talked about in Christian circles. I cannot say that. I don't know his past or did I know him myself. They will know if he was intoxicated that day of the innocent. You need to pray for his family and the officer's families as well. You need to pray for your government officials and others as well. The only door is JESUS of the bible. He is the way, the truth and the life. The heart is abundantly wicked and who can know it?
