TPL Church -  Keven Desmond Ministery

The prosperity gospel is toxic. People look for God in all the wrong ways/places and there are people that realized that you can sell people something. It’s like those pyramid schemes. I’ve seen the investigative reporting on it and it’s drastic. I got one comment that’s right on the money below.

Why The Prosperity Gospel Is Wrong! The healing deception. God wants to make you rich.

OK let’s talk about healing. At the same time before I start I wanna mention the honorable pasture Justin Peters whom has spent a great deal of his career exposing the prosperity Word of faith Movement. (God wants to make you rich) When Jesus healed people in scripture he didn’t always have to go to them. I think where they take this is from is the Roman soldier who had faith that his servant would be healed. But most of the time Jesus went to people in person. Now it is also to be noted that the apostles most likely were baptized with fire. They were given special anointment to do these things right up to the apostle Paul. I do believe God still heals people but it comes through prayer and it is not some magic act. Some talk about the touching of hands. Yes it can come through Christians or ministers praying for people. God is holy and people don’t reverend him as such as they should. I seen the investigative reporting on this and it’s drastic and dark. I think in their heart they believe as Christian believers that they have the power of healing. Faith is incredible but charlatans are numerous. We have to be careful not to add to scripture. For the research I’ve done I do believe/know that it happens but it’s not as though people think. God is not some magic act. If this were so it would be such incredible news. And if it were so then there would still be skepticism and they may conclude the body has the power to heal itself. That’s probably true to some degree. But when one does research to see the amount of deaths per year around the world and all the given diseases and all the different causes it’s humongous. It’s easy to exaggerate. Can you turn God into a magic genie which is in a sense not proper. I mean look God gave us gifts, he gave us doctors and he gave us medicines and education. He also tells us that sin leads to death. How many people in a given day actually repent and follow the truth? We have to be careful because somehow John 2:16 has crossed my path to many times. They have made Gods house into a den of thieves.

On the video above at TPL Church the comments are open there’s only six likes and no comments. I do note the Facebook page.  Now the Facebook page has 88 comments and they appear to be positive. I don’t know particularly this fella and I don’t know the integrity of his healing ministry so I can’t say whether it be true or not. It’s inspiring and intriguing and probably delightful to know that somebody wants to heal people but we have to approach this with caution because God is to be reverent. When Jesus said people will do greater things than he was he really talking to us or his disciples and Apostles of his day.

This particular fella is named Kevin Dedmon and he has a ministry website entitled Keven Dedmon Ministries.

When I looked for peoples responses if this fella is not a charlatan or somebody who is false in other words here is one particular response page
here. I mean I can’t judge him but I would exercise caution.

There is an interesting article and the title being the subject is can faith healing work by phoneCharismatic Christians try prayer to combat the corona-virusThe article is here

Now here’s a little chart

annualnumberofdeathsbycause.png

Now see that chart above look at the numbers how humongous they are. Consider all the doctors and hospitals in the world and all the medication people still die within the millions. If healing was as they say and born again Christians/pastures truly men and women of God can do the impossible it would be obvious. If it does exist it is not some magic act. Does it exist? Of course but God is not some magic act and he decides who gets healed and who doesn’t. But they will say that people didn’t have enough faith and so they died or they were not healed. Why do some people appear to be granted grace and healing and others not. Could it be a matter of genetics or a matter of how one maintained their life considering taking care of themselves which would include eating properly and exercise. I do believe some people are blessed but sin brings forth death. The word of God says I have set life and death before you choose life and clearly some people choose death. Deuteronomy 30:15-20

Now look at this other chart here below. If you notice heart disease is humongous and then followed by cancer. Then they get into accidents. And it goes down from there. People die around the world in humongous numbers every day. Death seems to be everywhere these days including darkness and evil just as Jesus said would be the case in the end times which we can liken unto birth pangs. It is said that the end times would be so wicked unlike from the beginning of time. And that’s exactly what we see. Jesus said those that try to preserve this life will lose it and those who lose it for his sake will preserve it. All good things come from above. God is good and God is holy but man is wicked and unholy. There needs to be revival. There needs to be repentance. There needs to be a turning away from sin. There needs to be an acknowledgement of the biblical truth. Not to be negative but to be positive.

Look what it says that is important in the gospel

1 Peter 2:24

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sinsshould live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

Once you repent of your sins in faith and you have a prayer life and you ask God in prayer to heal you that is a good start. But look what it says being dead to sins. The implications that you should live onto righteousness. Yes by whose stripes you ye are healed.

Foot notes:  Infirmities : healing of physical and mental weaknessSpiritual healing). Cast out demons as well.

His Jesus teachings and intervention has turned a sinful life around to a blessed life for many. He gave them hope, courage and reassured them all the tears would be wiped away. Sometimes he healed them as well. Making God into a business is what Judas did and what has occurred since that time of the first century as well. People are given John 3:16 and as if that already is not enough in a sense.

Think about all the pastures, ministers, street preachers and numerous Christians since ”after” the first century of Christ’s time whom believe they have the power to heal. The amount of people healed would be off the chart. Moses trembled when approaching God on the holy mountain. God is to be reverend. He is holy. You cannot truly understand what that means. And yes there are testimonies of people that prayed and some miracle was done as so they believe. Sometimes explainable! I think it happens but from prayer and Gods intervention but not as some magic magicians act. Not as in the prosperity gospel. As I say before when God sent plaques in Egypt he did not send healing afterwards.  Sometimes God sends judgment

There is a discrepancy if the gift of healing is still with us. Jeff thinks it is. Justin Peters thinks it is not. The canon is closed so to speak. That gift is no longer with us because the apostles are no longer with us.
