We (Saved People) were once spiritually dead due to sin and guilt. We need Gods grace initially, because we were spiritually dead due to sin and guilt. And we were once lost & unsaved were dead in trespasses. God is merciful. Unsaved and lost we once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air. Not according to the spirit.
"For Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul in the New Testament, First and Second Corinthians. Corinth is also mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as part of the Paul the Apostle's missionary travels. In addition, the second book of Pausanias' Description of Greece is devoted to Corinth."
"The Letter of Paul to the Corinthians, also called The Epistle of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians, either of two New Testament letters, or epistles, addressed by St. Paul the Apostle to the Christian community that he had founded at Corinth, Greece. May 22, 2020"
"Corinth. Corinth, Greek ((Kórinthos,)) an ancient and a modern city of the Peloponnese, in south-central Greece. The remains of the ancient city lie about 50 miles (80 km) west of Athens, at the eastern end of the Gulf of Corinth, on a terrace some 300 feet (90 metres) above sea level."
"The problems with the Corinthians/Church were.. the three main problem areas were: a) the church, b) the members and c) authority. Problems within the church were notably related to mission, baptism, the Lord's Supper, body life, love, worship and prophecy. Problems with members related to intellect, freedom, giving, sex, suffering and death."
I find ((2 Corinthians 3)) this version of scripture very interesting. Did see a video teaching on this before but have read this as well. It is said Paul founded the Corinthian Church and as I heard the evidence or proof is them founded by Paul the Apostle. This is evident in the opening line "3 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?" They need not.
They were not under the law in the Old Testament time but the Corinthians were under the NT because Christ is their messiah/their savor and lord. I've added the scripture here. Today we are under grace and not law. These Corinthians were declared to be epistles of Christ and not with ink but with the spirit of the living God. Not in tables of stone but in fleshly tables of the heart. They are not to think anything highly of themselves but they have been made able ministers of the new testament. They don't need other people recommendation as the proof is evident. It is of God and of the spirit of the living God.
Not by letter for "the letters kills". In their time people were killed for not keeping the law. They tried as I am reminded! They were not able to keep it. Either are we. Christ was able too do it and he did. The pharisees and Sadducee's sacrificed justice, mercy and being basically not fair but they were massively egotistical. Paul taught them well and founded their church as well but they don't need recommendation of proof by anyone as the spirit of the lord is their proof and it is written on their hearts. Its was evident then. They were not perfect but were true believers and saved. Today there are similar problems in biblical Christianity and Churches. In John 16:33 the lord Jesus Christ said "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
The spirit give life. Its death to be carnally minded. Don't live by the flesh as man will not live on bread and water alone but by every idol word he speaks. The flesh profits NOTHING/DEATH! We have grace but we should not think to abuse it. Give thanks daily in good times and in bad times. If you are born again by incorruptible seed you will understand what was once a mystery or blindness to YOU. Today there are others ministering the word of God and it is written in fleshly tables of the heart of those truly saved and whom know the lord too. Some make mistakes but they should know/confess when it happens as the lord knows no one is perfect. But none the less there are those whom have come to him and are his sheep/disciples/children. Amen
"People need life, initially and continually. We need it initially, because we were spiritually dead due to sin and guilt. "And you…were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh…and were by nature children of wrath" (Ephesians 2:1-3). The only remedy for such spiritual death is spiritual life. "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)" (Ephesians 2:4-5).
If you are lost and not saved you can get saved. Go HERE.
Give him thanks and praise daily and sing a new song unto the lord. Glory and honor is his for ever and ever. Amen
