Let not sin rain in your flesh
If you are a new creature in Christ then the above is within you. It is very important. To live by the flesh is death. We are not saved by works and this does not have to do particularly with our salvation. It is our duty and as written it is our “reasonable duty.” Pray for each other and live by the Spirit only.
As a brother in Christ this is from my heart!
P.S
I did not put this here for a huge study on this word. I put this here because living in the spirit is important especially if one claims to be born again (regeneration).. the new birth.. and I know there is gain in the things we cannot see and what we hope for sometimes we suffer with Christ. The comforter “Holy Ghost” is the mediator that makes intersection where we don’t know what to ask for. Christ was led into the wilderness where he fasted for 40 days and nights. temptation… (((deny yourselves..))) the Holy Ghost bears witness … Christ was tempted as many are who sometimes give in. They cannot see the benefit of living in the spirit. Some are like drifters. Excuses are made and people fall away.
We have to put on the incorruptible eventually. People don’t know what it means to be led by the spirit and to live in the spirit and not the flesh. “Fleshing desires”; as I heard one female host put it once. We have faith and hope in Christ.
Matthew 4:1-11
King James Version
4 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Here is what disciple Robert wrote that I find interesting.
