When mammon becomes your God

The end does not justify the means

The prosperity gospel has its roots in an American occult tradition called New Thought

The devil temped Jesus our lord.  Jesus responds with scripture.  Same when the devil was rebuked through the apostle Peter. Now when exposing the prosperity gospel certain Christians that are proponents & messengers of this prosperity gospel will tell you Jesus used Gods word against the devil. Jesus wants to give you great finances and houses and cars and great health and prosperity. What did Jesus say his followers will experience? Persecution! Pick up your cross and follow me. In other words using God’s word upon those whom are exposing the truth being the works of darkness in this case is the prosperity gospel they use Gods word against the disciples of Christ. So any attempt at correct teaching or insight into evil is claimed/blamed on the devil. John 10:10 This is when religion is used to deceive and tends to lean towards cultist-ism.  Demonic leaning too.

When John the Apostle was on the island of Pat-mos did he receive or embrace the prosperity gospel.  No! His faith was tested. He said the truth will set you free. See it says in scripture
2 Corinthians 11:14 - “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” He does not try to be good being the devil. There is no good in him at all. He blind your eyes and deceives you. He temps you as he did to Christ. You’ll be OK try this. He comes preaching another gospel. Worldliness. The pyramid scheme. Don’t worry about repentance God wants to make you rich. He loves you so much he gave you grace and just wants to make you rich. Live Fancy people will respect you. As I heard a professional on the prosperity gospel say / imply whose pockets become rich being the prosperity preachers as they become like mega stars even in their mega outlets. I remember one of them himself said if it feels good do it. He was referring to sin. People are deceived by the prosperity gospel that is wicked and very sinful. Gods word says teachers will be judged harsher compared to regular people. James 3:1 When we cannot accept the truth we are deceived. You cannot serve both God and mammon. Sure God will bless those who are his but we have to be humbled before him. The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Jesus was led by the spirit into the wilderness where he fasted for 40 days and forty nights. He was tempted. There were a number of scriptures Christ used against the devil. Now what did Jesus have? Faith and discipline. He didn’t give in. He told the rich man to sell everything he had, give the money to the poor and then pick up his cross and follow him. Just like he told Peter to follow him.

1. "1Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4

2. "Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." Matthew 4:7

Then the devil attempt to get Christ to worship him and offers him the world. What did Jesus say?

3. "10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." The the devil left and Angels came ministered unto the lord.”

Now there is one other particular time that is important and its when Peter was rebuked by Christ and he told the devil to get behind him.  Matthew 16:23 "

4. “23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."

So prosperity Christian opponents will quote biblical verses to make their point in case that God wants to heal most everyone and make people rich so they could live their best life now. I reiterate John 2: "16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise."

Jesus used the Scriptures mainly when people were tempted or himself. When prosperity preachers have greedy hands and now mammon has become their God how does the ends justify the means? Will they hear I never knew you? You know Jesus told the Pharisees who were the same in a sense repent or you will all likewise perish. He called them brute vipers. Serpents even.

You know/think it’s a serious thing to be in ministry for those who are. All we could do is expose it and also pray for people. We can show how scripture is twisted to support their prosperity theology. But there’s a story in the gospel when Peter warns a couple Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira as the wife held back funds for the land that was wicked because they lied to the Holy Spirit. Both of them fell dead / gave up their ghost. Acts 5:1-11

Now look what is written in the book of Ephesians

Ephesians 5:11-20 King James Version

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Evil is evil in whatever form it comes wrapped in. “Make not my Father's house an house of merchandise."

This is a time to turn from sin and get saved. The world glorifies it self. They shall be lovers of entertainment in the end days as in the days of Noah.

This is not a time for the prosperity gospel and people trying to reap the world. This is a time for repentance and submission to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. As written the world is deceived.
