Thoughts of peace towards you

February 10, 2020 10:33 am

Recently a fella Christian wrote a blog in conjunction to Jeremiah 29. 11 The lord has thoughts of peace towards his chosen people and not thoughts of evil. Now he was just making some points about peace and faith in the word of God, etc. Basically that the gospel should be preached all over the world. And he stressed that "all" could mean different things to various people. I wanted to address what this biblical verse is relating to. So I will include on this blog my basic simplified analogy of such. Some people were exiled into captivity because God WILLED for a reason as they disobeyed him. People want peace but the peace of Christ is not the peace of the world. Christ said few be there that find that narrow door in their lifetimes and if people want/wish to be his disciples then they must deny themselves and remain loyal to the vein. The world loves its own and that means people that are in agreement with it in all its vast ways of sins and rebellion against a true living God whom created everything and is perfect, holy and would have it that none perish but all come to repentance and believe on the gospel. God gave his own son so people can be saved through his/Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

John 3:16 "
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

From Jeremiah 28 - to Jeremiah 29 10-14 God is making reference to some events that occurred regarding Hananiah's false prophecy. And in turn this caused the people to believe a lie. God's judgment was that Hananiah (false prophet) will be wiped of the face of the earth and through King of Babylon Nebuchadnezzar these people would be exiled to Babylon in capacity because of their listening to diviners and false prophets. So these people have a trail to endure. In that trial they are told by God to have children, pray and seek him and be in peace in whatever City they are. He has plans to bring them back to Juda to their homeland and he loves them. But they must learn the lesson of their sins/refusal to obey their God of hosts. After 70 years of captivity they will be freed/rescued and they must pray, remain loyal and be peaceful, and search with all their hearts for their God whom will be found.

So the analogy was basically being made in that blog written that I told you about in the start of this blog regarding God's peace towards believers in Christ and to spread the gospel in all the world. The "all" the world can mean something different to people. God's plan of peace towards true believers in Christ is profound and can be complex and not understood. There is a peace in Christ that surpasses the understanding of man/humans. True! But the peace to come will be when he/Christ returns to earth and rules and in the life to come. In fact the gospel tell us that there is no peace for the wicked. Following the example/teachings of the lord Jesus Christ is somewhat peaceful but still we wrestle with other people that are wicked devils and not peaceful. There is a prosperity gospel being preached unto the world and while people want to prosper many disobey God and find peace in sin and deception reinforced by ignorance. Many humans want to win the lottery and have a really great time. Many don't understand God's righteous narrow way. Peace is wonderful but sin is a disease. You cannot serve two masters.

Update: February 11, 2020 2:33 pm

See, even King David sinned against God after he said he would make an everlasting Kingdom. He felt terrible and repented. God was very upset reading scripture about this event as he sinned with Bathsheba. He came against her husband. It is that easy as great Kings fell because of such temptations. What do we do then? We walk the narrow path. It is good to be a peacemaker but one must walk that narrow road and do "nothing" the lord says is an abomination to him.

Recently I listened to Obliged to Defend the Faith Back to the bible Canada. And that is interesting. Why people deny Christ and the faith. Blindness and what people perceive as life is death but regardless of their obligations is to the God of this world & ignorance. Some eventually find out and many perish that never cared or actually knew. Yes, people reap what they sow. Peoples God is MONEY and they have this narrow minded view/vision that there is life in all the things Christ said are death. You may ponder they find things of God boring but it goes beyond that. Many are blinded by the world we cannot see and other people help them stay blind.

Dr. John Neufeld  now has another teaching called It's about Jesus and it very interesting and profound. He gets into the questions people ask and some insight to peoples experience in regards to positive or negative aspects of the faith and explain whom Christ Jesus was. He was Jewish and came 1st for the house of Israel and then in his ministry of 3 years the gentiles were to be preached to and saved also. The prophet Isiah foretold his coming years before.  There is no difference between Jew & gentile.

Dr. John Neufeld in his current series he is dialoguing about apologetics of biblical Christianity. In this way he wants to show believers how they could be better equipped in giving a reason for the faith in Christ. He tells us that people have many questions. And he tries to show us a better way that we might enter into a discussion with non-believers. This is a wonderful series.

Matthew 5:9 King James Version (KJV)

"9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
