Work out salvation with fear and trembling

Bible Questions

There are sometimes misconceptions regarding the bible and various verses in the bible. This is one of them. What does it mean to work out salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12)?

First let me say the wonderful message of the gospel is "Salvation belongs to the lord". He did it and we can be saved because he paid the price and shed his blood. He loved us first. Amen!!  BUT then again God hates a Luke warm gospel. God is holy. Can we understand what this really means? Maybe but when we get to know him then it becomes more in focus. Jesus said his yoke is easy and his burden is light.  Hell is not a nice message and Christ is the one that can deliver you out of the hand of the evil one. So that is GREAT NEWS.

It is said there are people that use this verse to instill fear but Paul (NT) meant it as a regard to approach ones worship with reverence/high regard of holiness for God. And he wrote to the  Philippians and said to continue doing so in his absence. In other words finish the good fight in a high regard going forward for the lord. Funny how Christ said a man must love God with all his heart, might and soul. So I took a look at this verse and researched a tad and this video audio is the result. Praise to the lord Jesus Christ. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Amen

We are to have great humility and respect for the position of them that are preachers/are ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I would think it includes street preachers and there are effective ones and ones that may not be. No one is perfect but we would hope and please pray for those preachers. We know about prosperity preachers so we know PRIDE is a cancer and Satin uses this to lead astray even the elect.
