Advice for the disciples

June 13. 2020 8.21/ 8.44 am

Advice for the disciples. Pray that ye enter (not into temptation.) The faith of a mustard seed can move mountains.

22:31-38 King James Version (KJV)

"31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough."

King James Version (KJV)

What do we learn here. We learn that the devil Satan wanted to sift Peter as wheat. The Lord tells us that Satan desired to have Peter. It also tells us that the Lord prayed for Peter. He prayed that Peter's Faith fails him not. Peter made the statement  that he is ready to go into prison and die for him/Christ but Christ Jesus  told him he will in fact deny him when the cock shall not Crow this day thrice before thou shall  deny that thou knowest me. Peter was going to deny even knowing the Lord.

So you might ask the question, why would Satan desire to sift Peter? He being a fallen Cherubim Angel must Wonder what in the heck does the Lord see in Peter who's probably in his eyes being Satan an uneducated man who works for a living as a fisherman. In other words what is he made of and what is the son of God doing with him? How could this man Peter be a threat to/for Satan and Satan's kingdom? What is going on? That's what was on Satan's mind

Now here's the part where the Lord Christ Jesus test Peter and the others. He said onto them, when I sent you without purse, and script, and shoes,
lacked ye anything? And they said, nothing. He's testing them. See in fact as he told the woman at the well a man or woman who follows him shall never thirst again. In other words if you believe in me truly as you are not ashamed of me you shall lack nothing but they still lacked faith. You got to remember he chose Peter as an Apostle. Judas Iscariot sold Christ out. As Christ said Judas was a devil among them.

So now he says to them, but now he that has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his script: and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

See prophecy had to be fulfilled as even Christ said : "for I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, and he was reckoned among the transgressors for the things concerning me have an end." The things written about him have to be and will be fulfilled.

The sword is the word of his mouth which is the word of God. And the actual weapon of war being the sword needed to be purchased as the things written about him needed to be fulfilled. See, and they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, it is enough. What was the enough? To buy one of them was enough to fulfill prophecy. As we know Peter was going to cut off the ear I believe ; was it the Roman soldier. And what did Christ do? Healed the Roman soldiers ear. None of them died in battle using physical weapons. See, when he was at the Mount of Olives he said to his disciples and followers, "pray that ye enter not into temptation." Don't be tempted to do evil disobeying God. Those who are in Christ are lacking nothing. Faith must endure.

Now following this verse... suggested reading Evil-doers will be destroyed. PSALM Reading from 1 to 9.

8.55 am finalized today.

Footnotes

Peter told his Messiah being his master that he was willing to go into prison and die for him. Die for What? How is that going to accomplish anything? You can die for the truth as some martyrs of Jesus Christ did. As the head Apostle what was his job? Christ told him once he regained his faith after denying him and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Converted into what? Into a man with spiritual strength and spiritual determination that is not a scared to fulfill the word of God and the will of God. That he was to encourage the others as he gained this faith himself. Peters faith became incedably solid and he was able to minster to the others even none believers. Peter went through trials and tribulations and as they say iron sharpens iron and in this way he becomes very effective.
