I found this basic comment by Timothy Josh-son in (Torch of Christ Ministries) (Youtube) and I thought it was profound and wanted to address this comment.
Timothy Josh-son wrote : The Bible says that if we are to follow Christ, we must deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow him. Within this there is suffering, because the flesh is always contrary to the spirit and the flesh is always trying to conquer the spirit. The enemy hates true believers and is always on attack, but we are more than conquerors through Jesus. Romans 8:37 So many believe that God has called his people to always be going up the rough side of the mountain, barely making it, living at poverty level or below to prove our love for him. We are supposed to be light in the darkness, blessed in the city and in the field, a royal priesthood- our father owns it all. If a man will give good things to his children, why wouldn't our heavenly father give good things to us? Yes, the poor will always be among us, but God has also entrusted abundance to his obedient servants so that they can be vehicles of blessings to to the less fortunate. If God's people are always struggling, going through, and suffering, how is this a witness to the world?
My response part 1:
The witnessing is bearing the fruits of glorifying the Messiah being the Lord Jesus Christ that would include being in the word, preaching the gospel and telling other people about the Messiah. Sometimes the broken through their trials and tribulations grow and do great learning and this gives them some advantage. There are many parts to the body or we should say many members so it's not like anything is missing as there will be labor's even if there is a shortage today.
Timothy wrote:
Believers do experience suffering as a result of being in a world that is hostile to us, but it is not a criteria for getting to heaven or makes God love us any more than he already does. This poverty, suffering mentality is error and God wants his people to walk in their full inheritance.

My response part 2:
This can be a catch-22 scenario. It's almost like a prosperity Gospel. People want the inheritance now but this is not heaven and there are no guarantees. People are also dull of hearing and end up serving two masters as they find life in all the things Christ/Gospel tells us are abominations and filth. We could want good things for everyone but it just might not be the reality for everyone. The love of God is not the love of the world. When people say "I love you" that is a carnal worldly love and that is not everlasting. God is Holy and his love is everlasting but people can't understand what that means because they are in the world (Fallen) and many people are of the world and they are not true brethren. They lack holiness. Sure, it's a good thing to help others and to bless others as well. They profoundly helped others in the first Century Christianity. We would wish and hope that would be the circumstances today but in many cases that is not. The Lord Jesus Christ said to store up treasures for heaven where moths won't get at them. Matthew 6:19 Now this might sound weird but can you bring your vanity or your earthly possessions including all your unholy unrighteous ways of life on Earth with you to eternal life. No! absolutely not. Jesus said that a man and or a woman not born again in no likewise way will enter his kingdom.
When people have good things many times they are less than thankful to the lord. Many things are taken advantage off and misused. People are drawn to drugs, alcohol and worldliness/entertainment in the droves. God is last on their minds and things are their lives. Few believers stand up for those things that be of God and bear their cross. Sad state of affairs.

Maybe people don't have more or receive more, because they don't ask, expect, or feel that God is even willing. Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it shall be given to you.
My response part 3:
Sometimes people ask at the wrong time and many times it's not in the Will of God. Some Knock at the wrong door! So in other words, it's not something they seek/ask that requires living but it might be something in fact that the Lord came to destroy being the works of the devil and this is what people ask for a great deal of the time. People don't understand God because he doesn't think as men do as Jesus told us. However, Satan thinks as men do. He thinks of those worldly things but God is Holy and he said you must deny yourself. Christ will tell many he never knew them on Judgment Day and to depart from him. I wonder why?
What are good things? There are so many things that are nothing more than idols and all they do is cause distractions. For instance, exercise is good for you. But when people make it a competition for money then it becomes an idol. This is not of God but off the world. Christ talked about the rich man that couldn't enter his kingdom as it is like a camel going through the eye of a needle. He also said if you look at a woman with lust you've already committed adultery with her and your heart. Just a little story here as there is a man that I bumped into a couple of times now and the first time he was gawking at some woman and he said out loud a few things that people do when they gawking at women. He looked at me and I told him about the gospel and Christ/1st time. Just yesterday I bumped into him again and he was doing the exact same thing and he looked at me and he said "I know lust and he said I know Jesus Christ." When you are lost in the world and if one day you have been found and you came to true salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ and now the truth has set you free you end up seeing with the eyes of Christ. In other words, you now see what he saw. You see the world and its wicked state of evil rebellion to the narrow way of Christ/gospel. See, you see as such now but you were blind prior as you were most likely a part of it before you were saved. Then you'll understand why you are to be in the world but not of the world. The world apposes the true light of God and the gospel. It is full of evil and loves its own.
Once you are truly saved yes, the devil is always on the attack. You'll understand if you have deep spiritual understanding why fornication is wrong and why his way being the narrow way is the right way. And then you'll know that few people be on that narrow road and most people are on the Broadway way to destruction. Now when we talk about destruction people will think of a Broad path to physical death. Perhaps! The truth is they're on the Broadway to being cut off from God for eternity and thrown into the Lake of fire which they probably think doesn't exist but it does. Christ was no liar as everything will pass away but his words will never pass away.
Just as written in scripture what will it profit you to gain the whole world and forfeit your own soul? Matthew 16:26 The Lord Jesus Christ said repent and believe in the gospel or you will all likewise perish. He gave an example of the people at the tower of Si-loam that perished. It wasn't the tower that came down and fell on them that cause them to perish but it was their sins that they did not repent of.
Does the enemy hate true believers? Absolutely. It is written resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7 The enemy looks for ways to discourage your walk with Christ. He will have his team of deceived followers insult you and be little-you while taking the name of God/Christ in-vain because he knows it hurts YOU. He persecutes YOU and Christ together and hates both of YOU. If you have the love of the world you do not have the love of God.
