What happened to compassion

 2:44 pm today June 6; 2021

Having compassion or not having compassion. Administering of the word of God. Those who could care less. I remind you of John 3:16.

Ephesians 4:32

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”

King James Version (KJV)

Yesterday as I was out on a gospel endeavor I did tell a few people well into the day or reminded them about Jesus Christ.  This is as I was walking/travelling to a destination. And the travel was extensive/somewhat tiring. I came under a bridge and there was a film crew filming a TV show. How do I know that because I asked what they were doing. They were close to this fella but their attention was on of their work. As I was walking there was a black metal surface and I noticed this guy sort of boxing perhaps practicing fighting. Seems to look like a young guy. And I was filming it as I first thought to take an image of the under bridge but when I saw him dance fighting I decided to film it, I stumbled where the surface was a little higher and there was sort of a metal step. I fell and got a few scrapes and cuts. My arm was actually bleeding. My knee has some cuts and scrapes. As I got up I noticed I was in pain and the guy there who saw me right in front of him couldn't give a damn. So I decided to use this moment to share the gospel? It's no surprise that in life people don't know the gospel. This particular fella was not a believer. Little compassion! Not the usual perhaps.

So what happened? I asked him a question and was eager for a reasonable human reply.  So I asked him what happened to compassion? Since he is in Canada I implied the compassionate Canadians were known for. What happened! So maybe he thought I just wanted to talk to him. Maybe he thought I had something to sell as he asked me if I fell on purpose. I told him no. I mean I've fallen years before and people were compassionate. I was injured years back when hit by a car on a bike and people we're compassionate. But this fellow it seems was only interested and whatever he's into. He said/confessed he's not a believer. That makes him an atheist.

He said were responsible for ourselves. True. But still if that was the case then we don't need doctors, nurses, education unless we just use those services but we couldn't give a damn. So he would not understand the position of a true Christian let alone that that is because that would be foreign to him.

But I shared the gospel encompassing the situation at hand that day. I told him about Jesus Christ, sacrifice and the implications of hell. Again stressed the sacrifice on the cross. At one point he wanted me to go away as I say. But he thanked me in the end which showed me he had a little bit of a heart. And he said thank you. So I will pray for him as I said. He was reluctant to give me his name. Maybe he thought I was going to blame him for falling. Anyways, I would ask my brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for him too.

Colossians 3:12 - 3:13

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
