Who or what is the remnant church?
"Remnant" means that which remains of an original body or substance. In reference to God's people, it means those who are faithful to His original truth despite apostasy and opposition. It's in the Bible, Isaiah 1:9. "Except the Lord of hosts had left us a very small remnant, we should have been like as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah." Among people professing religious faith, the remnant is a relatively small minority. It's in the Bible, Romans 9:27. "Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved."

"God's remnant people are keenly aware that they are saved by grace and not by any merit in themselves. It's in the Bible: Romans 11:5. "Even so at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace."
What is a remnant? A small remaining quantity of something. We have to ask the question when did the Lord Jesus Christ establish his ekklesia (Called out ones) : His body of believers or as known in modern times "Church"? (Remnant) In contemporary times the church originally established on Pentecost, A.D. 33.
Interesting: "According to the Book of Isaiah, the "remnant" (Hebrew:? shear) is a small group of Israelites who will survive the invasion of the Assyrian army under Tiglath-Pileser III (Isaiah 10:20–22). The remnant is promised that they will one day be brought back to the Promised Land by Yahweh (Isaiah 11:11–16)". (( wiki ))
And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved"
If this is so that is not good. Then there's the question of the hundred forty-four thousand. Who are they?

What am I getting at in terms of the remnant and its loyalty to the lamb is there is remaining a small remnant being Christian believers whom keep the commandments of the original saints/body of believers as they did in the first century. By the end of the first century there was/came a change from the way of the Apostles and the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ worshiped and their form of Christianity. They say there was a falling away from what was instructed in the book of Acts. Jude 1:3 Even Christ said that the Kingdom of heaven suffered violence. We know from history that the martyrs of Jesus Christ gave their lives for believing in the lord/Christ/Christianity. We know that the Church/Congregation went underground as is the people of God who are the believers of the Messiah as they were being persecuted. (Maybe not all of them) There's talk throughout the Centuries that a small remnant existed that was very similar of that time/Christianity of the Apostles/1st Century. Again it started in that time (1st Century AD 33) and continued throughout the generations. This remnant is said to keeps the Commandments of God and the simplified old-fashioned way of honoring God/Worshiping in spirit and in truth. That is honoring the risen Jewish Jesus Christ. When Israel was exiled, they returned to the promised land. And God has been returning his people there in the current times just as it was said it would be. Eventually Israel will come to believe in their rejected messiah (Corner Stone) whom gave his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:35–45 When that will occur is another matter.
What it says in Isaiah 1:9 (Re: Remnant)
"If the Lord of hosts had not left us a few survivors, we should have been like Sodom, and become like Gomorrah."
Revelation 12:17
"Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea."
In Revelation 12:17 which is revelation of the future the dragon will make war with the offspring probably of the remnant. The devil hates God and he hates God's people. In the past he has made war with the saints. That history was foretold in biblical prophecy as well.
Look like Romans 9: 1- 33 says. Incredible.
"I am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit— that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kinsmen according to the flesh. They are Israelite's, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever." Amen. ... Pray for people that others come to believe as well.
Genesis 45:7
"And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors"

Interesting read: "After the death of Jesus, Christianity first emerged as a sect of Judaism as practiced in the Roman province of Judea. The first Christians were all Jews, who constituted a Second Temple Jewish sect with an apocalyptic eschatology."
Past studies on remnant...
The called-out ones, the congregation of God, another fold perhaps. The original fold (remnant). A small preserved group of Christian people/believers in messiah/Christ that the devil hates. Must be originally Jewish and from the original Jewish Messianic followers/disciples of Christ because Isaiah was at a time before Christ. They were called believers in messiah in those days and most likely NOT known as Christians as modern times. Christianity today has changed so much and taken on a lot of pagan customs here and there. It probably is the very original Jewish sector that God persevered throughout the generations. Where is it? So many people will say its us or them and here and there. What matters is to follow the lord hopefully in spirit and truth and prayer, To be saved. These remnant believers KEEP the commandments of God as the Apostles did. They KEEP THE SABBATH as well.
"The Seventh-day Adventist Church has traditionally identified itself as the end-time " remnant church " described in Revelation 12:17. Two of the identifying marks of the remnant listed in this verse are that they "keep the commandments of God" and have the "testimony of Jesus".
Many claim they are the remnant today: Can be various people claiming this/they are the remnant of God but it must have started back in the days of the Apostles. We have to go WAY BACK. Must study scripture. One needs to REALLY study scripture to REALLY know but if we don't then we should PRAY for them. We need to walk in the light of God and not in the darkness of the dark deceived and evil sin ridden world. Satin is a master deceiver but greater is he that is in YOU. The Kingdom of God comes NOT by observation.
When you do something, it should not be done to earn favor from God but out of a redeemed pure sincere heart to glorify the lord. To be like the lord. Christ paid the price in FULL. Pride will tear you away from God. God humbles the proud. The wicked will parish unsaved. God knows how to deliver his people out of the hands of the devil and from temptation. Give him thanks and praise. Many appear beautiful on the outside but within they are full of evil and all impurities, dead man’s bones as the gospel puts it. God knows who they are and what is their sins throughout history. His mind is above man’s. God see's everything. Nothing is hidden from him. Nations that forget God are turned into hell according to God's word. Get Saved and live ONLY for Christ and his gospel .
The devil would like to know where the remnant is so he can persecute it. You know he knows but God is above him and when he gets mad, he frustrates himself. That world you & I cannot see has powers above man and it is true GOOD fights Evil. I could simply say the truth will set them free but GOD'S (WILL) will be DONE in the end. What is written will come to pass.
