I come to bring not peace but a sword

I have not come to bring peace, but a sword

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

There is a peace that surpasses all understanding under the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 14:17 ESV 

"17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.  "

There are some people that are deceived that live worldly and sinful and when preached they are rebellious but they don't acknowledge their own rebellion or darkness.

What does the gospel say in such a case?

Matthew 10:34-36 ESV 

“34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household ."

The gospel says there is a peace under Christ that surpasses all understanding. The question is how do you find peace? They answer is the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. You have to be a doer of the word.

John 14:27 | KJV 

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

When God said I will puke them out, the lukewarm Church of my mouth to those that are lukewarm and wicked that would be anything but peaceful. In the gospel when the word of God says I will bring evil against wicked people, even those that kneel down to Baal or anything else would you say that's peaceful. There are deceived people as they don't see their own error. They insult, ridicule, take Christ/God's name in vain, have a dirty tongue & show rebellion but they don't accept their own sins as it is drastic and as I heard it said their Christ is lawless. Of course everybody in scripture especially in the Old Testament didn't follow Christ. Abraham follow the God of the Bible. Before Abraham I am.

What they say and do are two separate situations. The word that which describes such is hypocrites.

For example: A friend of mine told me a few years ago who is a real believer and he preaches the word that you can't fix it so your best bet is to stay far away from it. In fact the gospel tells us that there's no concord between darkness and light. It tells us we are to be a royal priesthood and to be separate. Then he/God will receive us.

I heard another preacher say whom had a ministry for maybe over 30 years that if he can't reach them how you are going to be able to reach them. Jesus said if they won't hear my words they will not hear your words neither.

Can you find peace in a counterfeit god or a counterfeit Christ? Some people do. But that's not the true everlasting peace of God that surpasses all understanding.

Now I'm going to give you another example: If you were sitting in the park and there is beautiful sunshine, you’re feeling good until somebody came up and sat close to you and started smoking would that peaceful? You know the second hand smoke can hurt people lest irritates them. Lots of people have asthma. Thank God they outlawed smoking in certain places but worldly people are not for GOD but ad-whore the world.

The first of the ten commandments, on which all others are founded and without which is chaos, destruction and death, is "Worship no god but me" (Exodus 20:3). That is peace. That is being on the right path and peace be with you when you are.

Isaiah 26:3 - "Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee." 1 Peter 5:7 you know God says you have to love with all your heart mind and soul. See what it says in Isaiah 26.3 whose mind [is] stayed [on thee]:" The mind must be fixed on he the Lord. The lord Jesus Christ said without me you can do nothing. You can't serve two masters. It doesn't work. Many celebrities tried and failed! 

Now did Judas Iscariot find everlasting peace? No. He sold his master out for money. As it is written the devil entered him. As I heard one Bible Scholar preach one day that a lot of people in scripture that were looking for peace in the true risen or otherwise Jesus Christ were crucified. Yes they were murdered. In fact Christ himself said that they would do so onto them. That is how rebellious the wicked world is against the true God.

 

What prompted me to write this blog on peace today is someone that I preached the gospel to as they are rebellious to the word of God & follow counterfeit but seek peace. In other words don't preach to them/me even that they live in sin and error/deception. But in the meanwhile I've witnessed it's anything but peaceful as its risky to NOT obey the lord. In retrospect when you plug in worldliness that is full of sin/rebellion and you think that’s peaceful you’re fooling your own soul. The gospel says "professing themselves to be wise they become fools." Romans 1:22-32 If you can tell me you believe in Christ and you put on modern music full of swearing, with horrible lyrics glorifying sin/rebellion then you don't believe in Christ. You are a hypocrite. You are not one of his sheep. You are a lost sheep. And one must wonder whom your master is. 

People want healing and they want an answer to evil all the while they are upholding the works of darkness and they refuse to acknowledge their own sin or their own blindness. It’s the devil that sows discourse. He blinds the minds of people so they won't believe. “Truly, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” (2 Corinthians 4:4 ; Revelation 12:9 )

He the evil one knows not of peace because he is a lion looking to devour People. 1 Peter 5:8

Christ once instructed the disciples/Apostles "11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city."
